rpd - research & product development - iterative design
Having graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University with a 2:1 in BSc Product Design, I learnt all manner of things relating to Product Design but found my calling with research, modelling (physical & CAD), user interaction/testing and technical details. The picture to the right is of a Stirling Engined mobile phone charger for the Developing World, powered by waste heat (steam) from cooking. Click on the Tab "Projects - Stirling Engine, Part B" to find out more. The design process encompassed all the attributes mentioned above.
My influences are trucks & engineering, fashion and architecture and nature. I am eagerly awaiting the rollout of cheaper electric cars & carbon neutrality.
I also have a Degree in Combined Engineering and a D.U.T. Genie Mecanique et Productique (French equiv. of HND) from 20 years ago.
